Lorz Italian Garlic

Brought by the Lorz family in the late 19th Century, this rare, softneck garlic holds a place of honor among the artichoke varieties. Its elegant, large, flat bulbs are covered in aged parchment-like wrappers and boast longer storage and legendary flavor in your favorite sauces, bisques and stir-fry recipes.

Chesnok Red Garlic

Known in Russian as “Red Garlic”, this brilliantly colored hardneck variety is favored among discerning chefs. These crescent-shaped cloves are covered by a combination of purple-striped and/or white translucent wrappers. With a uniquely spicy taste, it holds flavor integrity well when baked and makes an envious roasted spread.

Missouri Native Plant Redevelopment Program

As the greater metropolitan area of Kansas City continues to grow in popularity, development and construction is destroying acres of legacy forest land. Part of the mission of LCA is to beautify the land by restoring balance to the local ecosystem.

To that end, phase one includes an aggressive plan to combat the loss of forest by reintroducing species of trees that are native to Missouri. In the spring of 2019 we planted over 250 mixed hardwood trees (Black walnut, Pecan, White Oak and Mixed Hickory). Further plans to include restoration of native flowers, shrubs and prairie grasses.
